DESERT STONES SERIES

This series of embroideries was inspired by the landscapes of Central and Northern Australia, in particular the sacred Aboriginal site of Karlu Karlu (Devil's Marbles) in the Northern Territory.

Techniques used are informed by the Japanese traditions of Sashiko and Boro as well as  Indian Kanthe.

Materials: Linen and cotton fabrics, Cotton Perle Threads

Availability: These works will be a part of an exhibition at                                      Suzanne O'Connell Gallery December 2019.

COBBLED SERIES

This series of baskets represent a new direction in technique whereby loose materials such as hay and coir are 'cobbled' together using cotton string, hemp twine or waxed linen thread with random stitches.

Incorporated into these baskets are finds from the high tide line on local beaches such as driftwood and beach stones. Inspiration is drawn from beachscapes for these pieces which will be incorporated into an exhibition at Suzanne O'Connell Gallery in December  2019.
